Troops Recover Large Quantity Of Explosives

Jammu: Army troops today foiled a major tragedy with the recovery of a large quantity of explosives and grenades in Rajouri district, official sources said here. During a sanitisation operation of Budhal road in Rajouri district early today, troops recovered a polythene kept under a stone near the road at Kanthoie, the sources said. After the recovery of the polythene, troops discovered that it contained 12 kgs of explosives fitted with one detonator, 185 rounds, one Chinese grenade, they said. It was aimed to target security force convoy which was scheduled to travel on the road in the morning, they said adding it could have caused a big tragedy. Troops also recovered a live grenade adjacent to a school building in Galoti area of Bhimber Gali belt in Rajouri district early today, they said. It was recovered on the information of a teacher of Galoti school, they said adding that the grenade was destroyed and tragedy foiled.
