Jammu: Encouraged by the decision of the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, to re-open the question of Centre-J&K relations, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Monday asserted that autonomy was the key to the problems of the State as it would meet the urges and aspirations of its people within the larger Indian framework. Addressing a public rally here, NC president Omar Abdullah said, 'Giving State autonomy to the State of Jammu and Kashmir is the key towards addressing the political grievances of the people. We believe that a larger debate needs to start on the issue and earnest efforts should be made to address the political dimension of the festering Kashmir problem.' He said his party representing the wide-ranging diversity of the State would like to keep the interests of every group in J&K towards finding a dignified solution to the problem.
