Foreign militant of Lashkar killed in Kashmir

Srinagar: A foreign militant of Pakistan based Lashkar- e-Toiba (LeT) was killed by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in a joint operation in north Kashmir on Monday night, an official spokesman said. He said a joint operation was launched by the Army and police at Doorswani Sogam in the frontier district of Kupwara late on Monday night after receiving information about the presence of some militants. During the operation, militants opened fire and also hurled hand grenades on security forces, he said, adding the fire was returned and in the shootout a LeT militant Abu Saif alias Shaba, a resident of Sialkot Pakistan, was killed. One AK rifle, four magazines, 120 rounds of ammunition, two hand grenades and one wireless set were recovered from the slain militant.
