Arrangements Underway To Hold Sixth Int. Kashmir Conf. And Roundtable

Washington DC: The Sixth International Kashmir Conference and Roundtable discussion will be held at the Capitol Hill on July 20 and 21, respectively. The event is being held under the aegis of the Association of Humanitarian Lawyers and the Kashmiri American Council-Kashmir Centre. The topic for the conference will be: 'South Asia: post- President Bush's Visit.' Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, executive director of KAC in an announcement said that arrangements are underway and a number of noted speakers from various continents have been invited to speak. They include: Bharat Bhushan, Editor, Daily Telegraph; Professor Kamal Chenoy, Jawahar Lal Nehru University; Ved Bhasin, Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Press Association; Mr. Gautam Navlakha, Journalist, New Delhi; Ms. Anuradha Jamwal, Editor-in-Chief, Kashmir Times, Mowahid Hussain Shah, Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister; Gohar Ayub Khan, former foreign minister of Pakistan; Amb. Teresita Schaffer; Prof. Robert Wirsing; Sardar Anwar Khan, President, Azad Kashmir; Dr. Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema, Qaid-e-Azam University; Professor Nazir Shawl, London: Barrister Majeed Tramboo, Brussels; Amb. Yusuf Buch; Kumar Wanchoo; Dr. Ghulam N. Mir; Ms. Marjan Lucas, The Hague; Lars Rise, and Ali Khan, from Oslo; Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan; Talaat Hussain, Aaj Television; Prof. Ashraf Saraf: Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad; Hyder Syed; Ms. Karen Parker; Amb. John McDonald; Dr. Angana Chatterji. The Kashmir Roundtable Discussion will be held on Friday, July 21, and noted speakers are expected to participate. The topic for the roundtable will be: 'Kashmir: New Hopes & Aspirations.'
