Militants kill two Jammu villagers

Jammu: Militants slit the throats of two men in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district who had helped the police kill two Lashker-e-Taiba militants earlier this month.According to the police, the militants descended onto Hilltak village in the district's Darhal area, about 175 km north of Jammu, in the wee hours Sunday and slit the throats of Mohammad Shafi, 40, and his neighbour Mohammad Nawaz, 20. This is the second incident of such slaughter in the past three days. Militants had slit the throat of a young woman Sakina Bee of the same district Thursday.No group has claimed responsibility for the killings so far.Shafi and Nawaz had helped the state police in killing two Lashker-e-Taiba militants, including Ansar Pathan on July 3.The police suspect revenge to be the main motive behind these brutal killings.Militants are known to be extremely ruthless while dealing with suspected informers of security forces or those who directly or indirectly take part in security forces' operations against militants.
