Seven US Lawmakers To Address Kashmir Peace Conference

Washington DC: Seven US legislators are expected to speak at the inaugural session of the two-day Sixth International Kashmir Peace Conference, to be held at the Rayburn House Building, here late Thursday (today). Senator Tom Harkin of Democratic party from Iowa; Congressman Joe Pitts of Republican party from Pennsylvania, Rep Dan Burton of Republican party, from Indiana, Rep Sheila Jackson-Lee of Democrat party from Texas, Rep McCotter of Republican party from Michigan, Rep Rohrabacher of Republican party from California and Rep Rahall of Democrat party from West Virginia are among the speakers. Dr Karen Parker, head of the Association of Humanitarian Lawyers, will chair the proceedings of the inaugural session, while Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, executive director, Kashmiri American Council-Kashmir Centre, will present welcome address. The second inaugural session will be followed by an award distribution ceremony for the winners of the 1st International Essay Contest on Kashmir.
