Attique and Ishaq running for Azad Kashmir prime minister

Muzaffarabad: Nomination papers filed by the candidates of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (AJKMC) and the Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir (PPP-AJK) for the elections of the prime minister, speaker and deputy speaker of Legislative Assembly (LA) have been approved by the officer. For the seat of prime minister, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan of the AJKMC and Sahibzada Ishaq Zafar of PPP-AJK have applied while for the election of speaker, Shah Ghullam Qadir of AJKMC and Chaudhry Latif Akbar of the PPP-AJK are in the field. For the seat of deputy speaker Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir of AJKMC will compete with Sardar Ghullam Sadiq Khan of PPP-AJK. The elections would be held on July 24 in the LA session, presided by Speaker Sardar Sayab Khalid Khan. Newly elected member will first take the oath and then take part in the balloting. After the completion of elections, elected speaker, and deputy speaker would take oath in the session of the house.
