Newly-elected AJK President Highlights Government Priorities

Islamabad: Newly elected President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Zulqarnain Friday said new state government would make all out efforts to ensure the continuity of development process.In a telephonic interview to PTV he said, the priority would be given to an earlier rehabilitation of the earthquake victims. He said, in next few days the cabinet would come in place and the new government will start its full-fledged functioning. Being President he will play effective role to maintain harmony among all the institutions of state Zulqarnain said adding the opposition would be given its due status. He said the masses are decisive power in a democratic set up and they have given their verdict in favour of Muslim Conference. So it complies on all to respect the peoples' mandate, he added. He said AJK is a disaster hit area and the peoples' representatives are expected to use all their energies in the rehabilitation activities. He said Sardar Attique Ahmed is wise and committed person and he will succeed in establishing good governance in AJK. The office of President and Prime Minister would work in exemplary harmony and there would be no differences whatsoever among the state institutions, he said. He said the Muslim Conference is an ideological party and its workers and leaders are committed to the cause of their party. He said that there is no shortage of education and health infrastructure in AJK adding they however need upgradation and improvement to ensure the efficiency. The new government would of course utilize all the available resources in this connection, he added.
