Jammu: Four heavily-armed militants surrendered to security forces on Monday after crossing over from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir into Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The group crossed the Line of Control early Monday and approached the Cheran military post in Gawhalan area to lay down their arms, officials said. They handed over four AK assault rifles, eight magazines, four pistols, three hand grenades and a large quantity of ammunition to the authorities. Officials did not reveal their identities, but said all four were local youth who had gone across for arms training.
