Security Forces Bust Militant Hideout In J&K

Jammu: Security forces on Monday unearthed a militant hideout and recovered ammunition and explosives, including 10 kgs of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) fitted with a remote control, in a village of Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district, official sources said. A joint team of Rashtriya Rifle (RR) troops and Special Task Force (STF) of state police during a search operation busted a militant hideout at Shankri Dhar in sector Bala of Bhaderwah Tehsil, they said. The recoveries from the hideout included three UBGL grenades, 10 kgs IED fitted with a remote control, 60 AK rounds, 183 SLR rounds, one binocular, one letter pad of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit and some assorted rations. The hideout along with the ration was destroyed on the spot by the security forces, they said. Meanwhile, militants shot at a constable of India Police Reserve force at Kishtwar town of Doda district wounding him critically yesterday, the sources said. The militants also snatched one AK rifle along with magazine from the injured constable, identified as Ashiq Hussain, who was posted with 13 battalion of IRP at Kishtwar, they said adding the constable was later rushed to hospital for treatment.
