2 militants killed, one held

Srinagar: Security forces killed two militants and apprehended another while ultras shot at and wounded an auto-rickshaw driver in Kashmir today. SOG Badgam and troops of 2 RR shot at a militant during an encounter at Check-e-Charatram village in Kunzar area of Badgam early today. A Sub Inspector of SOG was injured in the operation. The injured militant identified as Farooq Ahmed Rather son of Ghulam Ahmed R-o Khonchipora, Tangmarg, who was a wanted militant of Hizbul Mujahideen has been arrested from the spot. Some arms and ammunition were recovered from him. In another encounter at Krumhora forests in Rajwara area of Handwara in Kupwara district, SOG and 6 RR gunned down two militants including one Afghani. Unknown gunmen shot at and critically wounded an auto-rickshaw driver, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, at Chankipora, Sopore in Baramulla district last evening. Injured, who was a resident of Arampora, Sopore, has been admitted in SKIMS.
