Policeman among two wounded in Kashmir blast

Srinagar: Two people, including a policeman, were injured in a powerful grenade explosion in south Kashmir Wednesday night.Police said guerrillas lobbed the grenade towards a police party in Cheni Chowk locality in Anantnag town, 56 km from here, injuring a policeman and a civilian bystander.'The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment,' said a police officer here.Guerrillas also shot at and critically injured a 65-year-old villager while he was leaving the mosque in Bejibehara town in the same district, 45 km from here. He was taken to hospital for treatment.Meanwhile, the Indian Army recovered 100 kg of explosives, 124 detonators and 14 improvised explosive devices from a forest near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir's Kupwara district, 120 km from here.Police also arrested a woman worker of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) along with a guerrilla of the outfit from village Mawar in Kupwara district.'They had gone to Mawar to attend a meeting of LeT,' a police handout issued here said.
