Kashmir Working Group To Press For More Trans-LoC Trade Routes

Islamabad: Chairman of the Indian Prime Minister's working group on trans-LoC relations M K Rasgotra has said that he will pursue the demand for opening more trade routes across the two sides of Kashmir with the External Affairs ministry. 'I will take up opening trans-LoC roads for trade with the MEA for further initiating the matter with the Pakistan government,' Rasgotra told a delegation of Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries. During the interaction, the delgation led by its president Ram Sahia put forth its demand for more such trade routes to boost the economy of the state. 'We urged him to press (the Centre) to reopen these roads for trade and commerce... We are happy with his response,' Sahia was quoted as having said.
