Jammu: Ahead of the festive season, security forces seized a huge consignment of explosives, including eight kg of RDX, blast devices and three under barrel grenade launchers along the LoC in Akhnoor area of Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources told The Hindu that based on a tip-off, a joint search operation was launched in the hills of Nud on Thursday. The explosive material was hidden near Akhnoor which borders Bimber tehsil of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The RDX was packed in two aluminium boxes and the explosive devices wrapped in a black polythene bag.The recovery is significant as investigations into past suicide attacks indicate that most of the attackers use this belt for hiding their ammunition. PTI reports from Srinagar: Two militants, including a Pakistan national, and an Army jawan were killed and three others injured in separate encounters as security forces foiled an infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir. The infiltration bid was foiled when security forces intercepted a group of militants trying to sneak into the valley from across the border in Nanital forest.
