Eight Senior Officials Transferred In J&K

Srinagar: Carrying out a reshuffle in the state administration, the Jammu and Kashmir government has transferred eight senior officials. The decision to transfer the officials was taken at a marathon cabinet meeting, which lasted more than five hours, chaired by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday. S S Kapur, who was the Industries and Commerce Principal Secretary, was shifted to the Planning and Development department. A S Sidhu, the Chairman of Bureau of Public Enterprises has been given additional charge of Information Technology and Science and Technology departments. Lokesh Dutt Jha, Commissioner-cum-Secretary in IT and S&T department has been posted at the same rank in Industries and Commerce department. Sheikh Nissar Ahmad will be the new secretary in the animal and sheep husbandry department. He will replace Muhammad Deen on 31st December, 2006 when the latter retires. Tanveer Jehan, who was vice chairperson of Lakes and waterways development authority, has been posted as Special Secretary in Power Development in place of B D Sharma. B D Sharma has been posted as Director of consumer affairs and public distribution (Jammu) in place of Vinod Kaul, who was transferred as Officer on Special Duty in the Relief Organization (Migrants) in Jammu.
