Islamabad: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Saturday that the European Parliament was a flag bearer of freedom and human rights, therefore Pakistan expected it to make a contribution to a peaceful and just settlement of the Kashmir dispute. Aziz was talking to Richard Howitt, a British member of the European Parliament, who called on him at Prime Ministers House. The prime minister said both European Union and Pakistan were active partners in the fight on terror, reconstruction of Afghanistan and the maintenance of global peace and security. He said Pakistan highly valued its relations with the EU, but wanted greater cooperation, especially in trade. Aziz said that greater access to European markets would help Pakistan achieve its social development plans.
