VHP warns against withdrawal of troops, revocation of AFSPA

Jammu: State Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP), has taken a strong exception to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) demand regarding withdrawal of troops and revocation of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA). In a statement, issued here, today, the VHP state president , Dr Rama Kant Dubey said that the demand made by the PDP chief, Ms Mehbooba Mufti in a meeting with Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh in this regard is fraught with serious consequences. Dr Dubey also criticized the Prime Minister for entertaining the PDP chief. Strongly criticizing the demand, he said 'Ms Mehbooba Mufti has started a campaign of blackmailing the country on flimsy statements which will prove counterproductive to the polity and integrity of the country.' Dr Dubey said the PDP chief has never asked Pakistan to vacate the area of the Occupied Kashmir. Moreover while human rights violations are at galore in Pakistan and PoK, but Mehbooba Mufti not uttering a word against it and only raising her finger on security forces of our country. Dr Dubey, who blamed the PDP leader for pursuing the separatists and anti national elements agenda said she was trying to project herself as their savior. The VHP leader asked Ms Mufti to refrain from raking up the issue of self rule and withdrawal of security forces as the people of J&K enjoy lot of liberty under the Indian democracy.
