Panun Asks Extension For Response On Hindu Shrines Bill

Jammu: An organisation of Kashmiri Pandits today asked the state government to grant an extension for filing responses to the proposed Jammu and Kashmir Shrines and Religious Places of Kashmiri Hindus bill.Panun Kashmir wanted the opinion and suggestions of trustees, office bearers and managing committee members of temples, shrines and religious properties of the Pandits in the Kashmir valley before filing its response to the proposed bill, its chairman Ajay Chrangoo told reporters here. He said they could suggest modifications in the draft of the proposed bill and asked the government not to patronise any person or organisation on the issue. The Jammu and Kashmir government had sought the opinion and suggestions from the Pandits when it tabled the bill.
