Jammu: Police on Sunday smashed an inter-state module of Lashker-e-Toiba and arrested four ultras, including one hailing from Chandigarh, in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said. Acting on intelligence inputs, police tracked a group of LeT militants and arrested four of them from a Poonch-bound passenger bus in Rajouri town, they said. They were taken to the joint interrogation centre, the sources said. The arrested militants were identified as Mohmmad Taj, Showkat Ahmed of Mendhar, Poonch, Mohammad Zubar of Pakistan- occupied Kashmir and Mohammad Khan of Chandigarh. All of them are part of an inter-state Lashker module headed by Mendhar-based self- styled LeT divisional commander Afzal Shah, the sources said adding, he had directed Taj and Showkat to visit Chandigarh to create sleeper cells in Punjab. They were joined by a group of four Lashker men, who stayed in Chandigarh and Rajasthan for over a month. While three of the militants stayed back in Chandigarh, the others, accompanied by a newly-recruited ultra from that city, Mohammad Khan, came to Poonch where they were arrested, they said. Police have despatched a team to Chandigarh to track down the other three militants. During preliminary interrogation, the members of the module said they visited Jaipur in Rajasthan and other places besides Chadigarh. The team reached Jammu on Saturday.
