Telenor to start services in Northern Areas

Islamabad: Telenor Pakistan will launch services from July 1 in the Northern Areas. It is the only available cellular operator in many parts of the areas. Telenor will start services in Chitral, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Darosh, Baroze, Shandur and other very important destinations. Customers in this region will be able to enjoy Telenors innovative services such as smartshare, easyload, mobile TV and all other offers that Telenor subscribers enjoy all over Pakistan. Commenting on the new services in the Northern Areas, Chief Technical Officer Peter Anthony Dindial said: We are very excited about being able to offer our services to customers in the Northern Areas. Mapping the eastern end of Pakistans Himalayas in Skardu, going north to Gilgit and Hunza, and continuing west to Chitral, Telenor Pakistans wide coverage will enable customers to stay in touch with their loved ones wherever they may be. Chief Marketing Officer Telenor Pakistan Sigvart Voss Eriksen said: Arrangements for the Telenor Shandur Polo Festival 2007 are in full swing. As Telenor Pakistan is the official sponsor of the event, which will be held from July 7 to 9 in Shandur, we will make every effort to ensure that visitors coming to the event are able to meet all their telecommunication needs through our network.
