2 OGWs Arrested; Ammunition Recovered In J&K

Srinagar: Two over-ground workers OGWs) of Hizbul Mujahideen were arrested by the security forces in Bandipora while a huge cache of ammunition was recovered from a hideout from Kupwara, a defence spokesman said on Saturday. The two OGWs, Aijaz Ahmed Parrey and Abdul Majid Lohar, were apprehended in an operation by security personnel in Hajan area of Bandipora district on Friday, the spokesman said. He said the two were involved in abetting Hizbul militants by facilitating mobile SIM cards and shelter to them. The duo has been handed over to the local police, the spokesman said. In another operation in Kupwara, troops recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from Pahaldaji, five kms from Vilgam in Kupwara district. Five AK rifles, one 7.62 MM pistol, grenade launchers and other ammunition were recovered in the operation, the spokesman added.
