Hide-out Busted, Arms Recovered

Baramulla: Security forces busted a hideout and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition in Kashmir valley. A defence spokesman said that a big militant hideout was busted in border district of Kupwara where huge quantity of arms and clothing had been stocked for winters. He said that Rashtriya Rifles troops carried out a search operation in forests between Cheepora and Kuligam in Lolab area of Kupwara district. During the operation, troops busted a big militant hideout from where huge quantity of arms, ammunition, ration and clothing, meant for harsh winter months, was seized, he added. The spokesman described the unearthing of the hideout as a major setback for militants as one of their main places to stay during winter months had been destroyed. One AK-47 rifle, 2112 rounds of AK ammunition, eight AK 47 magazines, one pistol, 40 grenades, 20 under barrel grenade launcher grenades, five kg explosive PEK, 33 detonators, six remote controlled IEDs, 40 pencil cells and other material were seized from the hideout, the spokesman added.
