Army To Hold Seminar On Human Rights In Kashmir

Srinagar: The Indian army is holding a seminar on human rights in Kashmir on May 15. An Indian army spokesman in Srinagar said the theme of the seminar is 'Understand Human Rights concerns in J&K and explore helpful ideas for conduct of people friendly operations'. He said the seminar will be conducted under the guidance of the top most senior Indian army commander in Kashmir, Lt Gen Mukesh Sabharwal. Prof Chintamani Mahapatra will present his paper on 'Human Rights concerns perceptions', PC Dogra (Retd police officer) will be discussing 'Hard Realities in the face of militant attacks and organizational responsibilities to ensure sanctity of the Human Rights'. Y Bhaskar Rao will explore ideas for guarding of Human Rights in Kashmir, Prof Siddiq Wahid will discuss 'guarding Human Rights in J&K' while Maj Gen SA Hasnain, will lead the discussion 'safeguard Human Rights in Kashmir'. The Indian army spokesman said the seminar is intended to involve senior, respected intelligensia of Kashmir.
