Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and former Union MoS Defence, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has termed the infiltration of militants on night of May 7 and 8 near the border post Regal in Mava area of Samba Sector as a planned intrusion. In a statement the BJP leader regretted that the Centre as well as the state governments have not taken the matter with seriousness as it needed to be. After visiting the spot and adjoining villages, Prof. Gupta said that the manner in which the border fencing has been cut with some highly sophisticated cutters to make a room for infiltration, clearly indicates the involvement of ISI of Pakistan and Pak Army and Rangers. He said the enquiries revealed that three large groups of highly trained personnel took part in this intrusion and one group resorted to heavy firing with different type of weapons to engage the BSF at the border post. Prof. Gupta said that Pakistan was never a dependable neighbour but it was unfortunate that UPA Government at the Centre and Congress led coalition of the state are buckling under the internal and external pressure and have lowered the guards both inside as also on the borders. He alleged that there were very few guards on duty at Regal Post when the enemy intruded and resorted to firing which provided opportunity to the enemy to infiltrate and reach Samba interiors including the locations of the defence personnels. Prof. Gupta while stressing on strengthening of security measures said this bloody action should serve a note of warning to the men at the helm of affairs and also take note of the utterances of coalition partners who are creating confusion by their statements.
