Infiltration bid in J&K foiled, militant killed

: An infiltration bid by militants to enter Jammu and Kashmir from the Kotli area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was foiled on Friday. The ‘3-11’ unit of the Gorkha Rifles spotted movement of militants in the Gambhir area of Rajouri district at 1 a.m. The troops opened fire killing one militant. An AK-47 rifle, four magazines and 60 rounds of ammunition were recovered from him. Official sources said there was no report of the Pakistan Army giving covering fire to the militants. Since November 26, 2003 Indian and Pakistan troops have been observing ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC).
