Antony Visits LoC In Kashmir

Jammu: The Union defence minister Mr AK Antony today assured the armed forces that the anomalies in the recommendations of the sixth pay commission were being looked into and the government would provide satisfactory package to them. Mr Antony who visited the troops deployed on Line of Control in the frontier district of Kupwara and Baramulla in north Kashmir, while addressing the troops, said that the entire nation recognizes the hard work and dedication of soldiers operating under tough conditions on the line of control. Interacting with the troops in their underground bunkers and living areas, the defence minister assured them that while they are away from their families,the government will look after them. Addressing a special sainik sammelan in the army garrison of border town of Baramulla, the defence minister expressed his satisfaction with the good work being done by the Armed Forces in tackling terrorism and restoring normalcy in the Valley. While interacting with media on the sidelines of the main function, the defence minister said that the purpose of his visit was to have a fresh look of the security situation in Kashmir and meet all concerned with security, defence and development.
