Udhampur: Entire Udhampur district unit of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today resigned from the party for its anti-Amarnath yatra stance. Disclosing this at a press conference, district president of the party Surinder Singh Fauji said 'all the office bearers of the party alongwith 500 delegates have resigned from PDP for its anti-Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) stance'. All the office bearers as well as delegates were also against the demilitarization demand of the party and the same was conveyed to the PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and party president Mehbooba Mufti a number of times, he said. 'The demand of demilitarization and anti-Amarnath yatra stand have made it clear to all the district unit that Muftis have been dancing to the tunes of Pakistan', Surinder Fauji said, adding 'the Muftis are representing Pakistan and anti-national elements instead of people of the State'. He also appealed the people to get united to fight against the pro-Pakistan agenda of Congress and PDP. Later, Surinder Fauji attended the Sangarsh Samiti press meeting and extended full support to the strike.
