Jammu: Army troops on Friday launched a massive search operation on the outskirts of the city following reports of the presence of two militants in the area. A woman informed police about the presence of two suspected militants in police uniforms in Ratnuchak forest area on the outskirts of the Jammu city this afternoon, police said. Soon after getting the information, troops of 26 Infantry Div, along with police, cordoned off the entire area and Special Operation Group launched a massive search operation, they said. Army has taken positions atop houses and started combing operation in the forest belt, they said. The high alert continued for the second consecutive day on Friday in the city. All entry and exit points have been sealed and all vehicles going in and coming out of the region are being screened. Police suspects that some more militants may have sneaked into Jammu from Pakistan after crossing the International Border in Kanachak during the major infiltration bid on August 26. Three infiltrators were killed on August 27 during a 19-hour-long hostage drama in the city.
