BSF Foils Blast Attempt By Militants

Srinagar: Militants today made an abortive attempt to set off a powerful explosion in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, schedule to go to assembly polls on November 17, official sources said. An Improvised Explosive Device (IED), planted by suspected militants inside a tin, was detected by a patrolling party of Border Security Force (BSF) on the main road at Nowpora village near Bandipora town, the sources said. The bomb experts were immediately called in and the IED was defused well in time, thus foiling the militants plan to set off a powerful explosion ahead of the polls in the north Kashmir district.
