No peace without Kashmir settlement

Islamabad: Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Chaudhry Qamar Zaman Kaira has said peace cannot be ensured in the world without resolving Kashmir dispute. He said this after administering oath to the Gujrat chapter Pakistan Medical Association office-bearers here on Sunday. The minister claimed that the Pakistan Peoples Party government was trying to resolve the core issue of Kashmir. He added that Pakistan was a victim of terrorism and was fighting its own war against terrorism. Those who were abducting and killing innocent people were not Muslims, he maintained. He claimed that the economy was progressing during the tenure of the Pakistan Peoples Party government. He said that the government was giving lucrative salaries to those doctors who were serving in rural and far-flung areas. He said that Rs 5 million grant from Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani would be transferred to the account of the PMA for the PMA House, district Gujrat. He said that Rs 100 million had been approved for the Comsat University at Chak Murtaza.Earlier, Qamar Zaman Kaira and PML-Q MPA Nasir Mehmood administered the oath from the newly-elected PMA office-bearers. Gujrat Executive District Officer Health Dr Munir Ahmed, District Health Officer Dr Azhar, University of Gujrat Vice-Chancellor Dr Nazimuddin and others were also present in the function.
