Major Administrative Reshuffle In J&K

: In its first major administrative reshuffle, the two-month-old Omar Abdullah government on Saturday transferred 37 IAS, IFS and KAS officers, including seven deputy commissioners, ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The decisions, including that of promoting eight SSPs to DIGs in the State, were taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Mr. Abdullah here, an official spokesman said. These transfers and postings would have immediate effect.
