Post-9-11 Policies Affected Kashmir Movement: Gillani

: Chief Hurriyat Conference Kashmir Chief Syed Ali Shah Gillani said that Pakistani policies, after the 9-11 incident, have largely affected the freedom movement of Kashmir. He expressed these notions while addressing a press conference on Saturday here at Karachi Press Club via telephone from held Kashmir. He said that India wanted to seize the rights of Kashmiri people following the policies of Zionist regime Israel, adding that the people of Kashmir would not refrain from giving more sacrifice for their great mission of freedom. He demanded the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir as more than 13 million people of the occupied valley were heartily desirous of emancipation from cruel clutches of India in accordance of the UNO resolution. Syed Ali Gilani said that more affective policies were required to resolve the Kashmir issue. He said that Kashmiri people had great hopes from the people of Pakistan and the affiliation between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan was too strong to be broken. He said that Kashmirs sacrificed thousands of their lives for the freedom of their land from the Indian occupation adding that now the Indian intellectuals supported the solution of Kashmir dispute with the willing of Kashmiri people. Commenting over the India-Pakistan economic relation initiative, he said that India-Pakistan relations were dependent upon Kashmir issue; without resolving the Kashmir dispute, long term relation are not be possible between the two countries, he added. He urged the Pakistani government to play its diplomatic role to fulfil the demands of Kashmiri people in the international community. Referring to the election in the Indian held Kashmir, he said that the thin attendance in the election was shown. It was the crystal clear evidence that the people of Kashmir gave not coverage and importance to the electoral process. While regretting over the internal situation of the country, he said that the disqualification of the Shairf brothers and imposition of Governorís rule in Punjab was not a good sign Pakistan and Kashmir. He alleged that Indian Government seized the passport of all my family including me adding that he undoubtedly would visit Pakistan after receiving his passport from Indian government.
