Alarmed By Bomai Report, Antony To Visit JK

Srinagar: After the submission of Bomai killings report to New Delhi by the state administration, Defense Minister, A K Antony is likely to visit Kashmir in the next few days for a “significant” announcement regarding the incident. According to KNS, following the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah’s decision for time bound inquiry into Bomai incident, former Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Basir Khan submitted an inquiry report to Chief Secretary, S S Kapur who forwarded it to the chief minister office. KNS, quoting sources, said the chief minister has himself gone through the report before it was submitted to the defense ministry. It claimed that the report was submitted on March 6 indicting the two accused Army men. It also claimed that the defense ministry has taken strong notice of it. KNS, quoting an anonymous official from Delhi, said Antony while expressing serious concern over the issue has decided to visit Kashmir. The official claimed that deliberations are on to fix the date of his visit. Antony would meet Omar Abdullah after the later’s return to valley, KNS added.
