Srinagar: Moderate separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has convened a two-day Hurriyat executive committee meeting to reconsider the amalgam's decision on the poll boycott. The Mirwaiz has come under flak from the hard-line separatists and the PoK-based terrorist amalgam, United Jehad Council, after his faction of the Hurriyat decided against calling for the election boycott last week. Sources said senior leaders Abdul Gani Bhat, Moulana Abbas Ansari, Bilal Gani Lone, Fazal Haq Qureshi, Aga Syed Hassan, Moulana Abdullah Tari and Mukhtar Ahmad Waza attended Hurriyat's highest decision- making body's meeting on Wednesday. 'Hurriyat would take a final call at the end of the two-day deliberations on Thursday,' a source said. The Mirwaiz convened the meeting as soon as he returned from New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting comes even as Bhat and Ansari dismissed UJC supremo Syed Sallahuddin's criticism of the Hurriyat decision.
