Two-day conference on cross-LoC trade postponed

Mirpur: A two-day conference on cross-LoC trade, scheduled to be held on June 2 and 3 in Islamabad to review confidence-building measures (CBMs) between India and Pakistan, has been postponed. This was declared here on Saturday by the president of Federation of Jammu & Kashmir Chambers of Commerce & Industry, the apex body of all the chambers of commerce and industries of Indian occupied Kashmir and AJK.New dates for the conference would be announced and communicated soon to all the proposed invitees of the moot, he added. A high-level 10-member trade delegation from Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir, as well as representatives of the business fraternity of AJK, were scheduled to attend the conference, which was aimed at reviewing confidence building measures initiated by India and Pakistan for trans-LoC trade. It was to discuss ideas for making trade more vibrant and meaningful through sending proposals to the governments of India and Pakistan after deliberations.
