Srinagar: Accusing Indian and Pakistani leaderships of lacking 'commitment and seriousness' on the issue of peace dialogue, the moderate faction of the Hurriyat said the US has a role to play in the region and sought a time-frame for resolution of Kashmir issue. 'We are looking for a change.... We want a solution of all issues through peaceful means and Amercia can play a role in the region,' its chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. Welcoming the visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, he said, 'we are not against cordial relations between India and US but want New Delhi to accept the ground realities and take concrete steps for resolution of Kashmir'. Referring to the talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani yesterday, the Mirwaiz said, 'We have welcomed the development but we feel there is a lack of commitment and seriousness. There is a void as both the countries started commenting on the statement of their premiers in such a way that suits them,' Mirwaiz said. The Hurriyat chairman said the involvement of India, Pakistan and Kashmiris is imperative for an everlasting solution to the Kashmir issue and stressed on the need 'to institutionalise the dialogue process and set a time-frame for resolution of Kashmir issue.'
