Jammu: After combating terrorism for more than two decades, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have now floated its own Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) with an IGP as its head. The decision to form the ATS was taken at the Cabinet meeting on July 14, which also effected a big reshuffle in the police department. The ATS with a Superintendent of Police (SP) as its in charge will work under the direct supervision of IGP (Crime Branch) S M Sahai. DGP Kuldeep Khoda confirmed that SP Zuber Ahmed Khan is in charge of the newly formed ATS. He added that the selection of the team is in progress. “It is the initial stage and some more police officers would join the state’s ATS,” he said.
