2 Injured In Grenade Attack On CRPF Picket In J&K

Srinagar: Two persons, including a CRPF jawan, were injured in a grenade attack by militants on a security picket in an old city of Jammu and Kashmir, a police spokesman said on Sunday. CRPF constable Anu Kumar and selection grade constable of Fire services Fayaz Ahmad were hit by splinters when a grenade exploded at Habba Kadal locality last night, he said. Militants wanted to target the CRPF picket, but the grenade exploded outside it, the spokesman said, adding CRPF and local police cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation, but the ultras managed to escape, he added. Both the injured were shifted to hospital, he said.
