Kashmir issue to be raised at all global forums, says Qureshi

Staff Report ISLAMABAD: Assuring the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) president of Islamabadís complete support, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan would raise the Kashmir issue at all international forums. Qureshi on Monday met AJK President Raja Zulqarnain Khan, who discussed with the foreign minister his recent visit to EU countries and the United States. The Foreign Office said in a statement that the two leaders discussed the progress made during Khanís visits abroad and his efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue globally. President Khan said his visits to the US, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and Ireland had been extremely productive. He also briefed the foreign minister on his meetings with the Pakistan and Kashmiri community and politicians during his visits. Khan said he had asked members of the British House of Commons and the European Parliament to lend their support for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The AJK president also apprised Qureshi about his meetings with Pentagon officials and several congressmen in Washington. The foreign minster appreciated Khanís efforts for highlighting the plight of the people of Kashmir at the international level.
