JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Gujjars United Front has sought the Government's attention into upper reaches of Reasi where Gujjar families were pressurized by security forces to vacate their pastures. Anwar Chowdhary, president of the Front has stated that number of Gujjar families in upper reaches of Reasi district were pressurized by security and task forces to vacate their pastures. He said that during this drought hit season these Gujjar families have nothing to eat for themselves and their cattle and livestock in plain areas. He alleged that for the past few days these families in upper reaches of Reasi district have been badly harassed by task forces and are being forcibly thrown out of their abodes. He appealed the Chief Minister, Forest Minister and heads of task forces to personally intervene in the matter so that poor tribal Gujjar families and their livestock could be saved from starvation and harassment.
