Strengthen hands of Omar led coalition Govt: Soz

: Member Parliament and JK PCC president, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz has stressed the need for strengthening the hands of coalition Government led by Mr. Omar Abdullah in the State so that comprehensive development programmes launched in the State are completed within the stipulated time. He said coalition Government is committed to equal development of all the three regions of the State. Addressing public meetings at Leharwal Pora and Nowgam in Sumbal of Bandipora district, Prof. Soz said the economic condition of the State could not progress due to the gun culture and thus the State was plunged into several problems including unemployment. He appealed the people to extend their full support to the coalition Government and work for peace, development and prosperity of the State. He said the public representatives elected by the people can play a vital role in bettering the present political situation adding that all the issues could be solved only through dialogue which would help restore peace in the sub-continent besides in this region. Prof. Soz said the State Government is initiating measures for the socio-economic development of the people living in 19 villages on the banks of Wullar Lake and said that measures for construction of roads, supply of drinking water and power besides medicare facilities have already been formulated. He said that Central Government has formulated comprehensive plan for preservation of famous Wullar Lake and the approval for the purpose has already been accorded in this behalf, Prof. Soz said and added employment opportunities to the fishermen is also the part of this plan. Prof. Soz also announced Rs. 2.50 lakh out of his MPLAD fund for construction of a culvert in Leharwal Pora. The public meetings were also addressed by Minister of State for Forests and Power, Shabir Ahmad Khan. He said Government has made all necessary arrangements with regard to supply of ration, kerosene oil, sugar, power etc. during holy month of Ramadan. Former legislators Ghulam Rasool Naaz, Usman Majid and Habibullah Bhat and other party leaders also addressed the meetings.
