Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said the other day that the attack on its senior leader Fazal Haq Qureshi was carried out by the miscreants who are not for the permanent solution of long delayed Kashmir dispute through comprehensive dialogue. In a statement issued at the end of the executive council meeting, the faction alleged that on this crucial and decisive phase of the movement some elements and agencies have again gotten re-activated whose “shops and business” are to get closed with the solution of Kashmir issue. “These very elements for their vested interests resort to acts of cowardice to create chaos and confusion among the people,” the statement said. The Hurriyat (M) alleged that some leaders make provocative and irresponsible statements to disturb the atmosphere and this leads to the killings of other leaders. “Hurriyat Conference has neither contested elections nor indulged into sell out on Kashmir. But we resolve that Kashmir issue can be solved through talks between India, Pakistan and Kashmiri leadership,” the statement said. Hurriyat (M) felt that it is a big tragedy that whenever some sincere and influential personality, who is also the well wisher of the ongoing movement, makes positive efforts for the solution of Kashmir issue, conspiracies are being hatched up to kill him or create misgivings among the people. “With such cowardice, inhuman and un-Islamic acts and actions the resolve of Hurriyat can neither be weakened nor the morale of people damaged,” the statement said. The Hurriyat (M) reiterated that pro-movement leadership and the people with their unity and political vision would defeat the conspiracies of anti Kashmir, anti movement and anti people elements. All efforts would be made for a solution on the basis of right of self determination. The executive council meeting was presided over by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman Hurriyat (M). All executive members participated into it. They strongly condemned the attack on Qureshi. The role of the injured leader was hailed in the ongoing movement was hailed.
