Kashmiri Pandits Upheld Indian Cause In Kashmir At Cost Of Their Lives: BJP9 May 2010
Jammu: Expressing sympathy with the displaced Kashmiri Pandits, BJP today said people from the community have upheld the Indian cause in Kashmir valley at the cost of their lives. A number of members from the community achieved martyrdom over the last two decades while upholding the nationalist cause in the state, BJP's state Legislative Party leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta said at a function of 'Panun Kashmir', an organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, here. 'Community of Kashmiri Pandits upheld the Indian cause in valley at the cost of their lives. I express full sympathies with the community,' Gupta said. 'Kashmir cannot be dreamt of without Kashmiri Hindus and BJP is always committed to the welfare of this patriotic community,' the former Union minister of state for defence said. Lashing out at separatist elements, he said secessionist elements are responsible for the present mess in the state. He noted that nationalist forces in J&K have a double responsibility to protect the interests of nation and to fight separatist elements. 'The issue of Kashmiri Pandits is a national concern and it demands a response at national level. The displaced community cannot sit silent on its geo-political concerns and it has first right on territory of Kahsmir,' Gupta said.
