Jammu Muslims For Referendum In State22 August 2010
Rajouri: Backing Kashmir, Muslim Coordination Committee (MCC) from Jammu Province has strongly pressed New Delhi to hold referendum in the state in order to fulfill its promise made with the people of this state. They also condemned state action on the civilian and made an appeal to the Muslim community to unite together for just cause. “GoI should come forward and fulfill its promise”, MCC, Jammu President, Prof Zahur-ud-Din has said that as he was addressing a meeting of Muslim intellectuals of Rajouri in the Dak Banglow here. In the meeting which was organized by Rajouri District, MCC President, Abdul Qayoom Dar, Din said that Muslim community of the state are united and they will not tolerate brutality in Kashmir. “We will no more tolerate state action on the people of Kashmir who have been detained in their houses for the last three months”, he said He said that all Muslims of Chenab Valley region, Jammu, Kathua, Poonch Rajouri, Samba, Reasi and Udhampur have united under the platform of MCC and all have a single voice to do justice with the people of this state. The meeting was presided over by Shahbaz Rajourvi a renowned Kashmiri poet of the state and attended by all Muslim intellectuals, Imams and politicians who strongly condemned the state action in the Valley and demanded immediate dialogues with the people of Valley. Spokesman of the Committee, Ashiq Hussain Khan said that the stone pelters in Kashmir streets are not militants and they are part of this state but government is avoiding their voices. “When government attempted to talk with gunmen in recent past, what is the problem in talking with the civilians”, he said.
