Foreign-funded Militant Outfits Intact In J&K: BJP9 September 2011

Jammu: BJP on Friday said the blast outside the Delhi High Court indicated that foreign-funded militant outfits are still active in Jammu and Kashmir and asserted that the demand for withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act by certain groups is 'politically motivated'. 'The reported link of the Delhi High Court blast with certain elements within JK is an eye-opener...it provides enough evidence that foreign funded militant organisations are still active in the state,' J&K BJP chief spokesperson Jitendra Singh said here. 'The demand by certain Kashmir-centric political parties to withdraw AFSPA is politically motivated and not based on objective assessment of the ground situation,' he said. The BJP leader said the reported link of the blast with Kishtwar and some elements sympathetic to Afzal Guru should serve as a rebuff to certain politicians in the state who have been seeking mileage by demanding clemency for the Parliament attack convict. Investigators have traced the HuJI email claiming responsibility for the Delhi High Court blast to a cyber cafe in Kishtwar and detained five persons yesterday in this connection including the cafe owner.
