Migrant's Land: Chargesheet Against 2 Officials24 November 2011
Srinagar: Crime Branch on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against six persons, including two revenue officials, for selling a piece of land belonging to a migrant Kashmiri Pandit here. The chargesheet was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate here after it was proved that the accused had grabbed the piece of land belonging to one Shakar Koul, a CB spokesman said. He said the Crime Branch had received a complaint in 2006 and subsequently registered a case under relevant sections of Ranbir Panel Code. During investigation, it was proved that land brokers Farooq Ahmad Grustu and Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Barbarshah, hatched conspiracy to grab the land with Mohan Krishen Tikoo, another migrant lodged at More camp in Jammu, the spokesman said. Tikoo, who impersonated as the owner of the land, prepared fake power of attorney with the help of Riyaz Ahmad Bazaz of Gawkadal and sold the property located at Chatra lane in the heart of the city, he said. The spokesman said Tikoo was helped by revenue officials Abdul Hamid Kathu of Telbal and Abdul Salam Khan of Shalimar in selling the land.
