Srinagar: Srinagar court on Friday issued non-bailable warrant against two accused cops in Wamiq Farooq death case. Hearing the lawyer representing the family of Wamiq Farooq (Class 7th student) who was killed in 2010 public uprising, Forest Magistrate Srinagar, B A Munshi directed Senior Superintendent Srinagar to arrest the two accused cops forthwith. Wamiq Farooq was killed on January 31, 2010 when a teargas shell allegedly hit him on the head near Gani Memorial Stadium at Rajouri Kadal in old part of Srinagar. The court asked J&K police to present the duo - ASI Ab Khaliq and SPO Muhammad Akram - on December Ist, 2015. Advocate Aijaz Ahmad is defending the Wamiq Farooq case on behalf of the family. ASI Ab Khaliq had appealed Supreme Court of India against then trail going-on in Srinagar court which has been rejected twice by the apex court. Both the orders were later submitted to High Court of Jammu and Kashmir which were subsequently submitted before Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Srinagar. However, CJM had already ordered a magisterial enquiry in the case and the present CJM, Masrat Shaheen, transferred the case to Forest Magistrate who gave the verdict today hearing Advocate Aijaz Ahmad.
