91 Militants Killed In Kashmir From January Till November

New Delhi: The data pertaining to militant activities in Jammu and Kashmir so far this year shows a similarity in figures for the corresponding period of 2014 in terms of the number of incidents and casualties reported. In response to a question on Tuesday, Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary provided data on the activities in J&K till November 22 of 2014 and 2015, besides other statistics. Thus, while 185 militant incidents took place in the state between January 1 and November 22, 2014, killing 22 civilians and 31 forces personnel and 91 militants, in 2015, during the same period, 186 incidents were reported in which 16 civilians and 38 forces personnel were killed, besides 91 militants. The data for all of 2014 (till December 31), shows that a total of 222 incidents-the highest for the last three years-took place, claiming the lives of 28 civilians and 47 forces personnel while 110 militants were also killed. In 2012, 220 incidents were reported in the state that left 15 civilians, 15 forces personnel, and 72 militants dead while, in 2013, 170 incidents resulted in the death of 15 civilians, 53 forces personnel and 67 militants.
