India Attacks Organisation Of Islamic Cooperation's Stand On Kashmir

New Delhi: Hitting out strongly, India on Friday termed as 'factually incorrect and misleading' the references made by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Kashmir during its 13th summit in Turkey and asked it to refrain from making such statements in future. The OIC, in its communique, had affirmed its support to the 'widespread indigenous movement of the people of the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK) for their right to self-determination.' India also questioned the locus standi of the OIC to make such references. External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, 'We note with utmost regret that the final communique adopted at the conclusion of the 13th Islamic Summit of the Heads of State-Government of the OIC Member States held in Istanbul, Turkey, on 14-15 April includes factually incorrect and misleading references pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir, which is an integral part of India.' 'We completely reject all such references regarding matters internal to India. We further advise the OIC to refrain from making such references in the future,' he said. The OIC called on India to implement numerous 'UN resolutions on Kashmir which declare that final disposition of J&K would be made in accordance with the will of the people expressed through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under the auspices of the UN'.
