New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) has foiled an infiltration attempt by heavily armed Pakistani terrorists at the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. A terrorist was killed in the infiltration attempt. The BSF also said that since the killing of three militants in an encounter on November 29 last year in the area of Chamliyal Border Outpost in Ramgarh sector, it has foiled 11 infiltration bids at the International Border with Pakistan in Jammu and 15 at the LoC. In regard to the fresh incident, the BSF said at about midnight during the intervening night of February 20 and 21, its troops deployed at the forward locations along the LoC in the Keri Sector of Rajouri noticed the suspicious movement of three to four militants moving towards the fence. The BSF sentries immediately alerted the nearby duty points and also simultaneously kept the movement under close observation. The militants tried to pass through the fence along the LoC. 'The BSF troops brought down effective fire on them. The militants opened fire with automatic weapons. They also fired UBGL grenades at the BSF troops deployed at the duty points along the fence. BSF troops retaliated and one of the terrorists was neutralized at the fence,' the BSF said in a statement. (Item recovered from dead terrorist.
